Leven Alice Rambin (born May 17, 1990) is an American actress best known for playing half-sisters Lily Montgomery and Ava Benton on All My Children during 2004-2008 as well as her recurring and guest roles in: Grey’s Anatomy, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, One Tree Hill and CSI: Miami.
Leven was born in Houston, Texas to Joseph Howard Rambin III and the former Karen Stacy Guthrie. She also has two siblings, her brother, Joseph Rambin and older half-sister, Mary Rambin. She began performing in school plays and studied at the Houston School of Film and Theatre and at St. Francis Episcopal Day School where she starred in her first school play before moving to New York when she got her first major role on All My Children. While acting, she has also pursued her high school diploma through the Texas Tech University Independent School District.
In September 2008, she joined the cast of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles as a series regular, playing the character Riley Dawson, a school friend and love interest of John Connor who was played by Thomas Dekker. Her character was killed off after a 10 episode arc. However, in March 2010, Leven was cast on the ABC series, Scoundrels that had an episode run of 8 but was eventually cancelled later on in the year due to low ratings. In February 2011, Rambin appeared on the hit Disney Channel show, “Wizards of Waverly Place” in the recurring role of “Rosie.”
Leven’s movie breakthrough came in the name of the popular dystopian series, The Hunger Games, where she landed herself the role of District 1 tribute, Glimmer who ended up fighting for survival in the arena against Katniss Everdeen – played by Jennifer Lawrence. Further film roles include Chasing Mavericks, released in 2012, which is based on a real life story about a surfer called Jay Moriarty. In the film, Leven played the lead love interest called Kim.
2013 has shaped up to be a huge year for Leven, with 4 films lined up. First up is Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, where Leven will play one of the main roles, a demigod called Clarisse La Rue. There is lots of hype surrounding the upcoming sequel. Furthermore, there is Walter, Two Night Stand and Seven Minutes – a range of different roles for Rambin who will be showing off her more dramatic, comedic acting.
